How to Link a Patient to an Incident

Who this is for:

Dispatchers, EMTs, Data Managers

Prerequisites:

Patient must exist in the system OR be newly created.

Steps

  1. Open the incident.

  2. Go to Patient Section.

  3. Search for existing patient OR click + Add Patient.

  4. Link the record.

Troubleshooting

  • Duplicate patient appearing

    • Consider merging records.

    • Ensure consistent naming conventions.

  • Cannot link patient to incident

    • Incident may be closed or restricted.

    • User may lack permissions.

    • Ensure correct spelling.

    • Patient may not exist yet
