Linking Patients to Multiple Incidents

Who this is for:

Dispatchers, EMTs, Data Managers

Prerequisites:

  • Patient Care Record created

  • At least one incident to link

Purpose

Some patients may be involved in multiple incidents (e.g., repeat medical emergencies, interfacility transfers).

Steps

  1. Open the Patient Care Record.

  2. Scroll to Incident Associations.

  3. Click + Link Incident.

  4. Search for the relevant incident ID.

  5. Select and save.

Troubleshooting

  • Incident not found → verify the incident is active or closed.

  • Patient cannot be linked

    • Check spelling

    • Patient may not exist yet

  • Duplicate appearance → review record merging.
